Feb. 23 2023

Dear all,

as you may have noticed, we elongated our Startnext campaign (which has started in December) until the end of February. Our goal of a new cheese counter is within reach – help us on the last few meters! So until February 28th, 2023 you still have the opportunity to support us at Startnext, to get some of the goodies as a thank you and tell all your friends about us.
A very big thank you goes out to all of you, who have generously supported us so far!
Here is the link to the campaign: Startnext

There is also a new goodie, which you can only get at the shop: Our Soli-Jam! Homemade marmalede made out of the fruits in our deep freezer, which broke down unfortunately. There are two sorts available for 6€ each (+1€ deposit for the jar). Just ask at the desk for it!

By the way, our collective comrades-in-arms from Nordneukölln, the Feuerbohne, also do crowd-funding! Support there too if you can and spread the word to everyone! Here you can support them: Paypal

And one more concern: The organic shop Biosphäre on Weserstraße is looking for a successor. If you know people, have ideas, etc., get in touch with them!

Now an exciting announcement: As you know, we are more than just a supermarket :) We not only bring delicious food to you, but would like to be a place of exchange and coming together even more than before. This upcoming Saturday, February 25th, the first workshop is going to happen at the Bioase – a creative miso adventure using fresh and locally-sourced ingredients from our store. Polly Yim @_cookingfeels will teach us the basics of miso preparation and at the end of the workshop you will have your own homemade miso! Workshop language is English. You can find more information here.

As we speak about fermentation: Have you already tasted our homemade kombucha?
Made from green tea it is know available at our café. Kombucha is a probiotic drink, i.e. it contains a lot of healthy bacteria for your gut microflora and helps you to strengthen your immune system.
Some of you already enjoyed it as a sample at our little drink last year. Now you can order it in the café!

Another announcement: We would now like to slowly start our delivery service offer – the “Kollektiv Bioase-Frischekiste”. The details aren’t quite settled yet, but we think the best way to learn is by doing it. Nevertheless, we are happy to name the Kita Ilsenbande as our first Frischekiste-customer! So: It doesn’t matter whether it’s a one-time or weekly delivery, whether as a family, shared flat or day care center, within the neighborhood or already outside the ring. If you don’t have much time or your purchases are too heavy, just tell us what your needs are!

Our café invites you to linger longer; so David from HOMELESS BOOKS ensures, that you have a suitable selection of books from his antiquarian bookshop. If you’re looking for something specific, let us know. The books also make great gifts!

Finally, a little something we would like to share with you: We are busy restructuring our internal processes in a collectively fair manner ;) This means, for example, improving our communication with each other, documenting work processes or jointly setting up clear rules for decision-making processes. Some time ago we also had a collective meeting with other small shops from Neukölln and Kreuzberg to exchange information about the current situation and see how we can support each other.

We also had our first podcast appearance – check it out! Link: Stand der Dinge (German)

So far from us. But the most important thing for us is to say: Come by and shop assiduously ;) We look forward to seeing you again soon in the Bioase!
